We are building on the strong foundation of community support to continue to provide high-quality healthcare to the people of Gooding County and across our area. As our community grows, access to healthcare needs to expand. To do this, and to comply with Idaho law, NCMC and the Hospital District Board would like to dissolve the Hospital District and allow NCMC to operate as an independent, stand-alone, non-profit hospital. This change will allow us to maintain our independence and ability to respond to the needs of our community.
Dissolving the Hospital District and permanently removing the Hospital District tax will require the community’s vote on May 15th and the approval of the Gooding County Board of Commissioners. Negotiations are underway, and if successful, dissolution of the Hospital District will allow NCMC to continue to provide excellent healthcare to the people of Gooding County and expand care to the surrounding communities. This change will also enable NCMC to continue to attract and retain highly-qualified medical care providers, professionals and staff, all the while remaining focused on the health and well-being of those we serve through education, outreach and innovative services.
